The University of Wales Swansea has just advertised a prestigious 5-year
Research Councils UK Fellowship under the umbrella of the Institute of
Environmental Sustainability, School of Environment and Society. One of the
preferred themes is: novel methods of high-resolution palaeoenvironmental
reconstruction.
This Fellowship can be either part or fully funded and turns into a
permanent academic post after 5yr.
The IES has been awarded substantial infrastructure funding via the Welsh
National Assembly to support research in stable isotope analyses of organic
materials, including molecular isotope analyses, and is currently
refurbishing laboratory space to provide new laboratories for palaeoecology
and biogeochemistry. CF-IRMS, GC, pyrolysis GC-MS and GC-IRMS equipment are
available or out to tender. UWS also houses the EPSRC Mass Spectrometry
Unit.
