HI Greg--

I'm just using the standard capillary (alas, on XP), but I take it they
still have the SGE valves. If you have multiple inlets, have you tried
switching the conflo to another inlet on the mass spec? If not, does
the valve easily close and open? You can over heat and over tighten the
valves (valve seat), so it may not be fully open. The valve may clog
too, especially if a piece of capillary breaks off inside it (not that
that ever happened to me ;) And of course there is the ever popular
"capillary pulled inside ferrule" when tightening--even when I
"pre-tighten" them. The only other issue, barring clogs, that comes to
mind is that you may have an extra long length of capillary.

good luck...

take care

gerry
