Dear Isotope Geochemists,
My colleague Pierre Therrein and I are pleased to announce that an updated version of the Stable
Isotope Fractionation Calculator (SIFC) has been put online at the same address http://
www.ggl.ulaval.ca/cgi-bin/isotope/generisotope.cgi
The updated web SIFC offers to computation alternatives:
1) compute the isotope fractionation (1000 ln ?) for a given temperature;
2) compute the isotope equilibrium temperature for a difference in composition (?).
The two alternatives use the same database comprising now 1026 fractionation equations for O,
H, C, S.
In the near future, the SIFC will sport a graphical representation of the 1000 ln ? (A-B) vs 10^6/
T^2 relation, displaying the intercept(s) of ? with T.
Since its launch in December 1999, the web SIFC has had a steady flow of users
With my best regards,
