Dear Rick,
That is my paper written in 1981 after the real Science paper was
published just before. In my early days I was royally attacked by Dr. Sam
Epstein and his colleague Mike DeNiro on hydrogen isotopes. It was a true
learning experience to have the "Big Boys" from Caltech take a very public
shot at your work when still a young scientist.
With time the two of them softened somewhat (at least Sam Epstein, I am
certain), but persistence has paid off. If any of you know me, I am a
scrappy person who "grew up" scientifically with some very powerful and
harsh critics.
I will check my records and see what I still have of that document.
