Centre GEOTOP at the University of Quebec at Montreal is looking for
someone to manage their stable isotope laboratory.  Questions

Research Professional Position: Stable Isotope Laboratory

The GEOTOP research centre at the University of Quebec at Montreal
(UQAM) is seeking a full-time research professional to manage a
stable isotope laboratory.  The laboratory has 1 Prism mass
spectrometer and 4 Isoprime mass spectrometers, as well as various
preparation systems (e.g., GV Instruments Multicarb, Aquaprep and
Trace Gas systems, EuroVector and Carlo Erba elemental analyzers).
This equipment is used to analyse C, N, H and O is a wide variety of
sample types (e.g., waters, sediments, breath samples, filters).
Duties will include development of new analytical methods, sample
analysis, report preparation for internal and external clients,
trouble-shooting and maintenance of the equipment, supervision of
facility use by researchers and students, and graduate student
training.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in Earth Sciences, Biology or a
related field, with a specialization and/or experience in stable
isotope geochemistry or biochemistry.  The working language at UQAM
is French, but a very good knowledge of English is essential.  The
successful applicant will be required to take French language
proficiency tests and, if necessary, French language classes will be
provided.  The annual salary is $35,404 to $67,126 depending on
qualifications and experience.
