Hi Jennifer,
As best I know the new coils have slightly smaller
beads inside and the silver balls you can see are just
to help keep them inside the coil.
If you carefully stretch one of the new coils you
should see the beads inside.
A good rinse in DI water and overnight in a 60'C oven
should help. As will extending the equilibration to 3
hrs and using Labco instead of Wheaton vials (up the
water sample to 400ul).
