HI,
I am a newbie here...
Alburgh just got 5 tablets and 5 projectors. We will be trying this soon. Advantage being that these devices have other uses too. not wireless, though.

Has anyone tried using a wireless tablet device in lieu of an
interactive white board? It might be easier to use and easier to
manage.

There are a number of interactive white boards on the market, e.g.
PolyVision, Mimeo, SmartBoard. I am in the market for some
interactive
white boards and I would like to poll the listserve for opinions with
respect to which ones work best and/or which are the best deal and/or
which ones will hold up best under use at a K-8 school.
