Hi Lydia,
Mt. Mansfield H.S. uses the P.A.S.S. system which is part of Schoolmaster. We have a link on our school homepage to get to it. At the start of each school year, parents are given a chance to opt out of this system, otherwise, they communicate with the school this way to get student progress reports, report cards, class assignments and teacher email links, attendance records, health office info and other communications. This PASS system is userid and password protected. Since this is inquiry only there is no acceptable use that we require. The majority of our families use this system.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

We're looking at using K12Planet for staff to upload grades, messages,
assignments, etc., to the web so that students and parents/guardians can
view them from their homes.

I'm sure many of you are already doing this so I wonder if you have any
words of advice. Our students and their parents sign Acceptable Use forms
in order for the students to receive a network account. Does anyone have a
specific policy for acceptable use that specifically addresses this type of
application and/or did you require some type of consent for its use. If you
do, would you be willing to share?

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely
Lydia M. Foisy
