Wendy,

This may be a bit late but...

What support pack version of 6.5 are you running? They changed the kernel version with sp2 and it supports a lot of the newer network cards including the broadcom ones. There are detailed instructions on novell's site how to compile and install the drivers into your pxe environment. It is somewhat difficult and you need a test box with the same version of the linux kernel (and again it is different for different support packs). I suggest if you are not running 6.5 sp2 or 3 to upgrade. This should be an easy way to get the updated drivers. Here are some links that might be useful:

Adding drivers to boot cd or partition sp1 or below:

Adding drivers to pxe sp1 or below:

Adding drivers to pxe or boot cd sp2 or above:

Hello,

I use Zenworks desktop management 6.5 for imaging computers. The
servers are Netware 6.5 sp3, Windows XP workstations. The new Dell
GX520's that I bought will not image. The Zenworks screen just shows up
and then quickly goes back to the bash prompt, no error message is
given. I hear that this is what happens when the nic card drivers are
not available on the Zen boot cd. It has a Broadcom NetXtreme 57XX gb
nic card. I have researched this on the Novell site and see many users
have had the same problem. The solution is to add the drivers to the
boot cd or upgrade to the next version. I have tried all the
suggestions I found on how to add the driver to the boot cd without any
luck. Has anyone successfully done this or have suggestions on how to
work thru this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Wendy
