Thanks, Sandy,
The teacher who is using photostory decided to use it after seeing a quick demo. The computer teacher helped them do it and it was her first time using it. They had to hurry to finish so there are some things that could have been cleaned up, but considering it made their point and has been shown in the Vermont State House, I consider it quite a success!l They have the governor coming tomorrow about the bus idling bill. I think he may be signing it at the school (?).
Here is the link to what they've done: http://www.brownsriver.k12.vt.us/
Click on the "SOM Photo Story" link at the bottom of the page.
Patty's flying with it now and is doing "Vermont, A Sustainable Culture" stories with the kids. She got the idea from Jan Reynold's Vanishing Cultures books. Patty is a language arts teacher so the writing/story telling is great. Kids have worked to take and share photos and what I've seen so far is great. It's either a 7th or 8th grade class. I will definitely send you some of the final products.

Hello all!
This summer Ellen Thompson and I are teaching a 3 credit graduate
course entitled Developing Literacy Through Digital Storytelling.
The course runs from 10-2 p.m. Monday-Friday (July 16-20) on the UVM
Burlington campus. Then, an online component kicks in for four
lessons that occur between July 23 and August 2. Finally, we come
together at UVM again on August 3rd between 10-4 p.m. and share our
work and final presentations.
Ellen and I are very excited about teaching this course, and we are
hoping to get a few more people enrolled in the next few weeks. If
you know of anyone who might be interested in learning how to
integrate digital storytelling into their curriculum, please let
them know about the course.
I have attached a course description with tentative syllabus for
further information. If you are interested, please reply to me
directly at [log in to unmask] and not to the entire list.
Best wishes for a great summer ahead --
Sandy
