Hi all,

I wanted to clear up a matter that I addressed the ISOGEOCHEM community
with a few weeks ago. My general question was if anyone had noticed if
Scientific Instrument Services (SIS) had swapped out source parts when
cleaning was requested. I brought my concern to ISOGEOCHEM because a couple
of our parts (Delta+) looked quite different after cleaning, our magnet
clamps no longer held the magnets snugly, and we had no beam. To make a long
story short we solved many of our problems once we saw that the magnets were
simply on the wrong side...this let the magnets slide "in" too far resulting
in loose clamps, a short, and no beam. Although I wish the source had
returned with the magnets in the proper orientation (and I had thought to
check this earlier), I can certainly rule out switching of parts. When I
relayed my problems to SIS they were quick to respond and did everything
they could to help.

Joe
