Dear all

another reference is: Farquhar et al. (1997) A rapid on-line technique
for determination of oxygen isotope composition of nitrogen-containing
matter and water. Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Vol. 11,
1554-1560

I have some experience with the method by Werner et al. (which has
been mentioned in a previous post). This method uses glassy carbon in
the pyrolysis tube of the elemental analyser and works quite well for
natural abundance samples. It may even be used to measure 13C and 18O
of cellulose in a single run (29/28 and 30/28 ratio of CO). The
Farquhar et al.-method uses nickelized carbon and the advantage of
this method is that not only cellulose but also water can be analysed.

Regards
