Hi, I'm Robbie Stewart, Dept Geology, Glasgow University.
I plan to submit a post-doc research proposal for European Community (EC) funding on stable isotopes and wine. This will be submitted under a Food Standards program. Stable isotopes are used to make sure wine (and juices) have not been tampered with.

Perhaps d18O of wines vary depending on the continentality of the vineyard? Do dD values give a more varied range? How does the soil affect trace elemental composition of wine? All important questions for EC standards officers.

English language publications which deal with this are far and few between. Are there any accessible publications around?

Kind regards to all mailers,
Robbie
