ENVIRONMENTAL/MARINE GEOCHEMIST. The Chesapeake Biological Laboratory
(CBL) of the University of Maryland's Center for Environmental and
Estuarine Studies (CEES) seeks to fill a tenure track position at the
Assistant professor level. Applications are solicited from individuals
who study fundamental geochemical processes and their biological and/or
physical control using tracers such as stable and radio-isotopes in
natural waters or at the interfaces between land, air, and water.
Candidates should have expertise complementing our existing strengths in
organic contaminant and nutrient dynamics, and organic and trace metal
geochemistry. The candidate is expected to collaborate within and
contribute to CBL's multi-disciplinary reseaerch environment that also
includes expertise in ecology, fisheries sciences and environmental
toxicology. The successful candidate is expected to establish and
maintain an externally-funded research program and to participate actively

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in marine/environmental chemistry or a
closely related field; post-doctoral experience in preferred. Send a
