Dear Howie,
A very good, althought not certainly cheap solution, is provided by Edwards.
In our vacuum extraction lines we use the BAROCEL 600 (100 mbar range;
Edwards code W600-32-111) together with the 1450 CONTROL UNIT (Edwards code
W594-02-020). You will also require the connecting cable (Code
W609-99-005). Total cost (depending on the Edwards Agent you use) might be
in the region of 2,000 pounds sterling. (by the way, one control unit will
support two barocel units).
We have six such attachements working right now, without one single problem
so far.
To me, considering that we do not have a resident glass blower, one of the
main advantages is that the barocel can be connected to the vacuum line via
an ultratorr (CAJON) fitting.
Other barocel models are available in chemically resistant and bakeable
materials.
Cheers,
Clemente
