>Dear All,
>Some of you were in attendance at the International Association of
>Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry
>1st Symposium on Applied Isotope Geochemistry held in Geiranger, Norway in
>1993. That was a "difficult
>act to follow".
>I was asked to investigate the possibility of holding the 2nd Symposium in
>western Canada. I was frankly
>becoming discouraged because the quotations for accommodation in hotels
>capable of catering to such
>a gathering were quite high and I felt beyond the reach of many of our
>colleagues.
>However, last week, there was a breakthrough and I am pleased to report
>that I have found a suitable venue
>in the Village of Lake Louise in our Rocky Mountains with a very attractive
>price for the Facility and Accommodation.
>The tentative time is towards the end of October,1997. At this time, I am
>enlisting your help in identifying other
>conferences scheduled from mid-October to the end of November which might
>conflict . Please respond ASAP
>as I wish to nail down a time slot before the Facility becomes totally
>booked and get out the 1st circular.
>Thank You,
>Roy Krouse.

The Geological Society of America Annual Meeting is usually in
this time frame. Besides, wouldn't that be well into the winter season ;
Lake Louise , which I have visited, strikes me as a wonderful venue for a
summer season conference.
