Dear Colleague:
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of
Illinois at Chicago is currently seeking to fill a a tenure-track appointment
at the assistant-professor level in the area of surface/near-surface
hydrological systems; hydrogeology; paleohydrology. A Ph.D. is required.
Applications will be accepted until Oct. 15, 1997, or until the position is
filled.
Our department presently has 9 faculty members and about 25 masters and
doctoral
students. We also offer a Bachelor of Science degree with specializations in
geology and in environmental earth science. The successful candidate is
expected to conduct a vigorous research program and to supervise masters
and doctoral students. Candidates are expected to teach courses at the
undergraduate and graduate level, including hydrogeology.

The University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track
appointment at the assistant professor level beginning August 1998 for our
expanding environmental program. The successful candidate is expected to
conduct
a vigorous research program and to pursue excellence in teaching.
Responsibilities will include teaching one required advanced undergraduate
course in hydrogeology.
Ph.D. is required.
