First circular
The School "Modern Trends in Fluid-Phase Petrology" is designed to
teach and investigate the theoretical and quantitative aspects of
paleofluids in minerals and the application of these techniques to the
study of fluid-rock interactions in the crust and upper mantle (Fluid-Phase
Petrology).
The School is limited to 30 participants and is intended in the
first instance for undergraduate and graduate students. We encourage
interested students from all EU and associated countries to apply. Economic
support for students will be available.
Professionals (industry and university) are also
invited to participate. Their registration fee, which will cover lodging,
meals, and all other costs is not expected to exceed 450 ECU (900.000 Lit).
Participants will be responsible for transportation to and from the
school. Partial travel subsidies for EU students outside Italy will be also
available. Further information on travel will be provided in the letter of
invitation. The School will provide a final certificate recognised by EU
Universities. All participants will be encouraged to present their current
research relevant to the topic of the School (as oral presentation or in a
poster).
Preliminary registration dead-line 15 February 1998. Potential
participants should send a letter of application to Maria Luce Frezzotti
(address below), including a brief statement of interests, and the subject
of any proposed oral or poster presentation. The request of scholarship
covering accomodation and/or travel expenses should be motivated in the
application.
