Dear all
During the analysis of the carbonate for crabon isotopes
within the Fischsciefer interval (OAE1a) we recorded some negative
values for the event itself (ca. -8 o/oo). Is this some feature of
diagentic overprint? Only I've seen a Kuspert paper on the Posidonian
shale which record a similar trend which he links with CO2 recycling,
though someone did say that this was not well received.
We also analysed the organic matter which produced values that we
would expect, though the timing of the excursion was later than
expected.
Cheers
Bob Brown
