Dear everybody:
We have developed a method to activate ordinary zinc to react with water
for hydrogen isotope analysis. We call it GGC zinc. Thousands of water
samples have been analyzed in the past two years using GGC zinc. The
results are very satisfactory. The precision of duplicates can easily be
reached +-0.7 permil. The GGC zinc has the following advantages over the
zinc presently used in other labs:
a. easy storage, can be stored in ordinary desiccator.
b. never needs washing or degassing.
c. no difference between batches.
We would like to have other labs test GGC zinc and make comments on it.
Anybody who is interested in testing or using GGC zinc may contact us at
the address bellow. We shall send you 20g GGC zinc upon request.
