Morning Bruce,
I also have a MAP 215-50 noblegas mass spectrometer for He, Ne, Ar
measurements and experience numerous power outages and voltage sags
annually. Before I had a UPS I basically couldn't run the lab during the
summer because of all the sags produced by air conditioners cycling on and
off. I purchased a BEST UPS
5 KVA with external bypass switch 240 VAC input with 120 and 240 VAC output
for $5000. Other than having to replace the batteries every 3 years it has
been maintenance free. So has my mass spec. I wouldn't even consider
running a mass spec without a UPS. Cheers, TCO
