Brief Position Summary:
Staff scientist to support two major instruments: a Bio-Rad FTIR and a
Finnigan MAT Delta S high-resolution GC-MS as well as assisting in all
operations of the Environmental Analysis Center (elemental and organic
mass spectrometries and chromatographies).  See its web page for more
information.  Multiple hirings are a possibility.

Required Job Duties:
Routine maintenance.  Instructing users and assisting researchers.
Problem solving and troubleshooting.  Application of standard techniques.

Minimum Requirements:
M.S. or Ph.D., preferrably in Analytical, Physical or Geological Chemistry.
Experience with FTIR and/or high resolution, isotope ratio GC-combustion-MS.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a positive attitude a must.
Self-motivated and independent.  Must be able to set own priorities.

Additional Remarks/Requirements:
Responsibility for valuable instruments and their use by a variety of
researchers.
Experience in LC-API-MS and/or Thermal Gravimetric Analysis and
skills at developing new, advanced techniques, all a plus.
