     As stated in a previous message, we are organizing a special one-day
session to honor Sam Epstein at the GSA meeting to be held October 26-29,
1998, in Toronto, Canada.  We urge all of you interested in this session to
formulate an abstract, which is due at GSA prior to July 13. You should
indicate that the abstract is for category #8 (Geochemistry-other) and for
the "Epstein" session in the appropriate area of the abstract form.  In
addition, please send a copy of the abstract by mail, email, or fax to Kurt
Kyser at the numbers shown below.  Should you have any questions, please do
