 TWO ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITIONS
ANIMAL CELL PHYSIOLOGY AND MICROBIAL ECOLOGY

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Arkansas has two
openings for tenure track Assistant Professors to begin August 16, 1999. We
invite applications from candidates who have a Ph.D. (or equivalent),
postdoctoral experience, and demonstrated abilities to establish innovative
research programs using empirical approaches for the study of animal cell
physiology and microbial ecology. Both appointees will be expected to teach
courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and to develop a vigorous,
externally funded research program. For more information on the University
and
Department see http://comp.uark.edu/~bioinfo/bisc.html. Applications should
include a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching and research interests,
reprints of published papers, and at least three letters of recommendation.
They should be sent to Dr. William J Etges, Chair, Physiology Search
Committee
or Dr. R.D. Evans, Chair, Ecology Search Committee, Department of Biological
Sciences, SCEN 629, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Review of
applications will begin December 1 and continue until the position is filled.
The University of Arkansas is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action
Employer. Applicants must have proof of legal authority to work in the United
States at the time of hire. The Department is especially interested in
applications from qualified candidates who would contribute to racial, ethnic,
and gender diversity.
