Dear Colleagues:

A three-year appointment leading to the degree Doctor of Science (Dr. rer.
nat.) is available at the University of Munich. The project involves the
investigation of Nd-, Sr, and C-isotope compositions, and REE in Late
Paleozoic conodonts from Europe with respect to the evolution of the oceanic
regime between converging Laurussia and Gondwana. Funding is provided by the
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the project is part of a Priority
Program entitled "Evolution of the System Earth".
Experience in radiogenic isotope techniques and a good command of the
English language are desirable.
