Isogeochemists:
We are running Micromass' Dual Inlet v. 2.2 software on a three-year-old
Dell OptiPlex 466/Le computer with our Optima. I did a quick test of the
software about 6 months ago where I advanced the system's clock to December
31, 1999 at 11:55 PM and watched what happened while the Dual Inlet
software was open as the clock passed midnight. As expected, the date on
the monitor changed to 01/01/00. I then wanted to see what would be
printed on paper if I did a zero enrichment run. To my pleasant surprise,
the date that was printed was 01-01-2000! I did not check to see what
would happen on February 29, 2000, nor did I try an autorun to see if the
advanced date would affect any autorun sequences, but it appears as though
there is little that is date-sensitive in this software.
This whole mess would have been a non-issue if everyone used a Macintosh....
