Dear Anders and others,
Last year at the 5th CF-MS Workshop in Ottawa Bill Mark from University
of Waterloo distributed potential Standard Reference Materials for
CF-MS. The materials were NIST 1557b Bovine Liver, 2682a coal,
2685acoal, 2704 Buffalo River sed., 1547 Peach Leaves. Since we wanted
to compare our CF-MS data with those prepared by the off line duel inlet
MS technique, we contacted Nancy Trahey at NIST (Deputy Chief, Standard
Reference Materials Program) for more supply. We learned from her that
some of the distributed materials have been depleted (not isotopically)
2682a, and 2685a and they will be substituted by 2685b and 2682b. She
proposed for testing those materials instead. We have got the supply
and tested them for N-15 and C-13 by both techniques, and we are about
to test for S isotope in the near future. 2685b has around 5% S and
2682b has 0.5 % S content.
My suggestion to the community is to stick with these materials, since
for C and N they must have been tested already by several laboratories.
Maybe for S as well, but I do not know about it.
Regards: Kinga Revesz
