We homogenize samples by taking a little amount of liquid nitrogen and
putting that on the sample in a little marmer ( a sort of stone, I don't
know if that is the same in english)  beaker and then we homogenize it with
a massive (also from the same material than the beaker) stamper. I hope that
will help you for homogenize your samples because we are doning that on
little animals and not on plants.
