QUESTOR Centre/School of Civil Engineering
Required for two years to undertake contract research on Reactive Barrier
site study, including pilot scale performance, installation and monitoring.
Applicant must have a degree in Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science,
Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or a related field. Postgraduate
study in Hydrogeology, contaminated land, bioremediation or related fields
is desireable. Experience in contaminated land site study and remediation or
hydrogeology or ground water experience or a related field is essential.
Experience of interaction with industrial sector on contaminated land site
study and for remediation and application of contaminated land technology
are desireable.
Salary: £19,869 per annum (pounds stlg.)

Research Technician

QUESTOR Centre/School of Civil Engineering
Required for two years to provide technical support for research and project
work on Reactive Barrier design, site study and installation. Duties will
include chemical analysis e.g. GC, IC, wet chemistry, column experiments,
fieldwork and preparation of reports. Applicants must have a HNC or BSc in
appropriate field with analytical chemistry experience together with some
laboratory experience using GC, LC, IC, wet chemistry or microbiology.
Further relevant qualifications and experience are desirable.
Salary: £12,931 per annum (pounds stlg.).
