Let me weigh in to this thread with two more older, "undercited" papers
from former mentors and colleagues at Penn State:

Deines, Peter, 1977, On the oxygen isotope distribution among mineral
triplets in igneous and metamorphic rocks:  Geochimica et Cosmochimica

Downs, W. F., Touysinhthiphonexay, Yen, and Deines, Peter, 1981, A direct
