Dear listmembers,
I have problems with the double injection needles (with 2 fused silica
capillary's glued in) for the Finnigan Gasbench. After a while the flow
decreases because small septum particles stick into the lower needle hole
capillary.
Does anyone have experience in how to solve this, f.e stick it in a solvent
like ethanol and put in an ultrasonic bath with a flow of air through it
,or putting a very thin fused silica in it (all the way through the f.s so
it comes out at the needle side) to clean it?
What will happen when you scratch part of the deactivation layer inside the
fused silica while doing this?
As the needles are quite expensive it's usefull to repair them.
Thanks,
