Listmembers,

We are having a new and somewhat unusual problem. When the He dilution
capillary comes down in the open split of our Conflow, we get a 1-4 volt
mass 28 spike that comes out to the IRMS immediately. Because of the
timing, we conclude that it can not be going through the EA/GC and has to
be a problem in the Conflow. We have changed the capillaries in the
Conflow and cleaned and adjusted the open split without change.

Has anyone seen this before, and if so what did you do to correct it and
remove the mass 28 spike that immediately follows the start of the He
dilution?

Cheers,

Bill
