As Dr Spiers suggested, work was done in NZ and published:
Wilson, G. F., D. D. S. Mackenzie, et al. (1988). “Importance of body tissues as
sources of nutrients for milk synthesis, using 13C as a marker.” British Journal
of Nutrition 60: 605-617.
I'm surprised more has not been done since, especially now with cheaper analyses
by continous flow.
