Greetings -
I have a question pertaining to collection of zooplankton and POM
samples out in the field. I was wondering if I can freeze my bulk
zooplankton and POM samples out in the field (I am on a research vessel)
and do sample sorting later on (i.e. on solid land), without a change in
C and N isotope signatures. I suspect this would be o.k. but I wonder
if the freezing process would cause some leaching of tissue, and thus
depletion (???). Any insignt on this would be greatly appreciated.
cheers
Todd
