Dear Isotopists,

A recent conversation with Tom Brenna prompted the following thought.

At the moment, there doesn't exist an internationally renowned
scientific journal that caters (more or less exclusively) for the
stable isotope users community.

Some of you might know about the journal "Stable Isotopes in
Environmental and Health Studies" which, however, does not enjoy a wide
circulation. Major cock-ups such as missing entries of entire volumes
into the SCI database do not help to increase its popularity either.

I wonder if you think there is a need for a journal of high standing
that is devoted to stable isotope mass spectrometry and (if yes)
which publishing house would be acceptable to our community and,
as important, amenable to this idea?

How about "Fundamental and Applied Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometry"
for a title?

Thanks very much for your comments.

Best regards,

                             Wolfram
