Dear Wolfram Meier-Augenstein,
it has been thought about a special journal for stable isotopes already long
ago. The crux is: (stable) isotopes cover a wide range of applications.
Therefore, I think the best reason for discussion with not only isotopists
is to have some exclusively journals (Chem. Geology -Isotope section, J. of
Appl. Geochem, Stable Isot Environm. Health Stud., Anal. Chem [for new
methods]...).
I know the journal "Stable Isotopes in Environm..." - the former
"Isotopenpraxis" which was a special journal for isotope research, but known
and used only in a small circle of isotope scientists. Now, the topics have
been changed to a more environmental and health study frame and to (mostly)
stable isotopes. You see, the journal is also connected to special items.
However, why do not use this journal for this purpose?? I will inform Dr.
Krumbiegel, the Chief editor of the journal.
That's my comment and best regards
Gerhard Strauch
