Faculty Position in Isotope Ecology

The Department of Marine Science and the Marine
Science Institute of The University of Texas at Austin
invite applications for an Isotope Ecologist to hold a joint
appointment as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the
Department and as a Research Scientist at the Institute.
We seek applicants with experience in mass spectrometry
and the application of stable isotopes in the study of
marine environments.  Candidates must have a Ph.D.
degree.  Preference will be given to candidates with
postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop
externally-funded research programs and to contribute to
graduate and undergraduate education through course
instruction and student advising.  Specifically, the
candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching
an undergraduate course in Marine Ecology.  The position
receives nine months of annual salary support from the
State.  Facilities at the Marine Science Institute include a
new isotope ratio mass spectrometer coupled to an
elemental analyzer system for automated sample
