We are making our extractions for D/H analyses using the successful
Vennemann and O'Neil line design, one stage of which involves heating the
sample in 6 mm diam. quartz tubes with a torch (butane-oxygen with us). To
make this extraction stage more controlled, we are thinking of doing this
with a furnace rather than a torch and wonder if anyone else is doing so
and what kind of furnaces they can recommend. It appears to us that a
furnace capable of 1200 C is adequate.
Thanks in advance
Alan
