The Department of Geography, University of Wales Swansea, UK is
offering up to five Ph.D studentships in Environmental Change, to be
selected from a list of five approved topics.  These will be funded by
the NERC or the University of Wales.

Two of the approved topics are:

Long-term Reconstruction of Summer Drought in the Northern
Mediterranean Region Using Stable Isotope Dendroclimatology of Sub-
fossil Pine (Dr Danny McCarroll)

Late Quaternary Palaeolimnology of Lake Kopais, Greece: A High-
Resolution Geochemical and Isotopic Record (Professor Alayne Street-
Perrott with Dr Jonathan Holmes (Kingston University))
