Ciao Isotoper's

I am wondering if anyone knows whether HCl treatment, on samples of fossil
wood/coal and organic shales, has a side-effect on the measurement of
nitrogen-isotope ratios? Any suggestions or ideas are greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.
