To Claudia & other frustrated unsubscribers,
When you subscribe to isogeochem or any other listserver, you receive a
message like the message I have copied below. You should always archive
this message as it tells you how to escape the list when you have had
enough.
Sending commands to <[log in to unmask]> does nothing at all. It only
forwards the message to everbody on this list who get sick of reading these
signon/sign off messages.
The subscribe/unsubscribe commands need to be sent to a separate command
processor <[log in to unmask]>
All the information you need is included below. Other listmembers who
didn't archive their welcome message might also like to archive this
message.
Remember to turn off your signature file when you send commands.
Cheers
Joe Cali

Welcome to the ISOGEOCHEM discussion list, also known as "Stable Isotope
Geochemistry", hosted by the University of Vermont.
The objectives of the ISOGEOCHEM list are to promote the exchange of news and
information among those with an interest in stable isotope geochemistry,
and to provide new contacts and enhance collaboration among researchers
from different disciplines (e.g. geology, biology, chemistry).
The list is intended not only as a discussion forum for isotope geochemists
but also as a source of information and help for researchers from other
fields interested in applying stable isotopes as an additional tool in
their own studies.
To make a posting to the list, send an electronic mail message to:
[log in to unmask]
Fill in a meaningful subject field (to give a short description about your
message) and then type in the message. Within a few minutes, maybe as long as
an hour, your message will be sent to all the subscribers.
To reply to a posting from the list, use the normal reply function of your
mailer, but remember that your reply will go to EVERYONE ON THE LIST,
unless your mailer allows you to reply to the author.
By default, your posting will be sent to both you and the list. This will
give you confirmation that your message was received by Listproc and
delivered to the subscribers.
To issue other Listproc commands, such as unsubscribe, review, or help,
send them to [log in to unmask] in a similar way.
