Applications in Stable Isotope Ecology Conference (April '98)
!! Deadline - Jan 31/98 !!
Anyone still interested in attending this conference should apply as
soon as possible. Information regarding the scope of the conference,
registration information, accommodation information, and contacts can be
found on the Conference Web Page at the following URL:
http://ecsask65.innovplace.saskatoon.sk.ca/isotope/page11.html
So far there are over 50 papers being presented, and space is quickly
becoming limited.
NEW! Conference Proceedings
There will be Conference proceedings, although submission of a formal
manuscript remains optional for presenters. The editors of "Oecologia"
have agreed to publish a selection of papers arising from the conference
as refereed proceedings. Similarly, the editors of the "Canadian
Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences" have expressed interest in
publishing refereed proceedings for papers having an aquatic theme. We
would like to take advantage of these opportunities. However, to gain a
better idea of whether this will be feasible or not we need the
following information from new registrants wishing to present a paper;
a. Do you also plan to submit a manuscript for journal submission? Y/N
b. Which journal would you submit to? Oecol. or CJFAS
c. Review type papers are welcomed (but please contact us first on this)
Keep in mind your manuscript will be DUE at the conference in final
format (read the specific journal's guide to authors!), and ensure they
are of reasonable length. There will be no exceptions to the due date,
as the editors are expecting a bulk submission. Also, be aware there is
no guarantee your paper will be published - this decision ultimately
rests with the journal editors and the peer review process.
If you have any questions regarding the Conference, please feel free to
email or call either Keith or myself. We are anticipating this to be an
exciting Conference covering many aspects of the rapidly growing field
of stable isotope ecology.
