STABLE ISOTOPE RATIO MASS SPECTROMETRY CHEMIST

 SALARY:  $38,667 to $56,608

We are currently accepting applications for a permanent position as a
Stable Isotope Ratio  Mass Spectrometry Chemist with Environment
Canada in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

YOUR CHALLENGE:  The work involves initiative, judgement and application
of
knowledge in the field of isotope ratio mass spectrometry and
non-routine
chemical analysis including high vacuum extraction techniques.
Non-routine
applications require method development and evaluation.  Innovation is
required to investigate potential avenues during development of methods
and
evaluation of techniques.

EDUCATION:  Must have a Degree from a recognized University in a
natural,
physical or applied science.  Candidates with formal training in Stable
Isotope Chemistry will be given preference.

EXPERIENCE:  Applicants must have demonstrated extensive experience in;
stable isotope sample preparation and clean up of samples from varied
environmental matrices.  Experience in the maintenance, operation and
repair
of stable isotope analytical equipment, quality control of this analysis
and
with desktop computer systems for stable isotope mass spectrometry data
is
required.

LANGUAGE:  Proficiency in English is essential.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:  A valid Provincial driver's license is
required
(or eligibility for a valid provincial drivers license).  The successful
candidate must pass a pre- employment medical examination.
