Dear colleagues,
I would appreciate if you have any recommendations for separating
the n-alkanes from the acyclic hydrocarbons using molecular sieves (5A). I
have already tried using WASHED MOLECULAR SIEVE (5A 60/80) from ALLTECH.
1 ml of isooctane (extract) was sealed and heated at 85 C for 24 hours.
N-alkanes were not included at all inside the molecular sieve (Recoveries
were higher than 97%).
In the literature, most of the people are using molecular sieve in pellets
instead of 60/80. Do you think that this could make all the difference?
Thank you for all your suggestions
Happy New Year!
Imma Tolosa
