Dear interested,
Here is more information on buried tree stumps; sorry it took me a 
few days to dig it up:
The location is Muya Depression, S.Siberia.
There are tree trunk horizon buried by lake sand there. C14 dating 
showed 27-36 Ka. Driftwood horizons located nearby show (c14)10-
12 Ka. The youngest tree stumps discovered there are 2-8 Ka.
I am personally interested in these data because I expect to obtain 
from them a hi-res record of paleoclimate (pCO2?), because a 
detailed age correlation is possible using c14. However, this is not 
my highest priority now because I am finishing my PhD, looking for a 
position and competing analysis on speleothems from the same 
mid-continental location. I will start on that as soon as things get 
easier on me.
However, if there are people interested in taking part in this, I 
will contact folks in Irkutsk and Novosibirsk, Siberia, and see what 
they are doing, what's available and what can be done.
