POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
PHYSIOLOGICAL / ECOSYSTEM ECOLOGY

A postdoctoral position is available to study the sensitivity of different
carbon and nitrogen fluxes to variation in timing of ecosystem disturbance.
The successful applicant will make extensive measurements of soil nitrogen
transformations, gaseous nitrogen loss, and soil and plant nitrogen and
carbon isotope ratios at the ECOCELL facility at the Desert Research
Institute. A Ph.D. in an area of ecology or soil science is required. The
applicant must have the ability to function as part of a team. This is a
cooperative project between the University of Arkansas (R.D. Evans) and the
Desert Research Institute (Jim Coleman, Weixin Cheng, Yiqi Luo, and Jay
Arnone). Salary will be commensurate with experience and the position
includes full medical benefits. Review of applications will begin 1
December and will continue until the position is filled. A starting date
in January is preferred but this can be delayed for well-qualified
candidates. See http://comp.uark.edu/~devans/evans.html for more information.
