Hi, Thomas,
I was trying to pursue this myself for a while because of some
interesting things I observed when analyzing both modern and fossil
teeth and bones. I didn't get very far, but here is a paper you should
know about. It is not isotopic, but it deals with the sulfur content of
teeth and bones of Recent and fossil animals. It will be of some interest
if you are hoping to analyze structurally-bound sulfur species in bones
and teeth (there's not very much) as opposed to sulfur in the organic
constituents of teeth and bones (usually lots).
Schneider, Alfred, 1968. Der Schwefelgehalt in Knochen und Za:hnen
rezenter und fossiler Organismen. Contr. Mineral. and Petrol. 18, 310-325.
Good luck,
Lois Roe
