To friends of the Optima
Our system controller 'fault' was fixed after a new STE bus power supply
was installed. Sadly for us, a rather more expensive cure than replacing
the on-board battery. Incidentally, the CPU was stalling with the LED
lights indicating an interupt error (green orange orange) - I don't know
whether this is in any way diagnostic of power supply vs. battery as the
cause of the problem. The on-board CPU battery was giving only 0.5v
however, significantly down on its rated value of 3.5v. I havn't fitted the
new one yet as everything seems to be running fine, but have one ready and
waiting, just in case....
