Subscribers to ISOGEOCHEM are encouraged to apply for the following
vacancies to be advertised in New Scientist on February 12, 2000.

PDZ Europa is a leader in the development and manufacture of stable
isotope ratio mass spectrometers and associated preparation systems for
dual-inlet and continuous-flow analysis of the stable isotopes of
hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur. Due to the increasing
success of PDZ Europa throughout 1999 and scheduled growth during 2000,
applications are now invited for the following vacancies:

Analytical Chemist:

An experienced analytical chemist is required to manage and develop our
applications laboratory. Applicants are expected to have at least a good

degree in chemistry, or a relevant discipline. Familiarity with ISO 9001

and GLP are essential. You will develop new analytical methodologies and

provide analytical support to researchers in both academic and
commercial institutions.

Instrument Scientist:

Applicants are expected to have at least a good degree in a physical
science and be experienced in the design and assembly of analytical
instrumentation. Some background in mass spectrometry and/or any
relevant postgraduate experience would be desirable.
The job will involve the development, characterization and optimization
of new instrumentation for use in our range of mass spectrometers.

Sales and Marketing Assistant:

PDZ Europa requires a highly motivated and energetic individual to join
our Sales and Marketing department. Applicants should have a good
science degree and excellent communication and organizational skills. A
working knowledge of stable isotope mass spectrometry would be
advantageous. Previous sales experience is not a pre-requisite.
The major responsibility is the achievement of North American sales
goals by meeting and exceeding customer’s needs with PDZ Europa
instruments. This will involve identifying and exploiting new sales
opportunities, managing customer portfolios, and extensive travel.

Systems Engineer:

A systems engineer is required to support our Test and Installation
department. Applicants should have a good degree in a physical science.
You will need to be enthusiastic, customer focused, with excellent
interpersonal skills. A willingness to travel to customer sites around
the world is essential. The key responsibilities are: the testing and
validation of instrumentation, product installation and customer
acceptance, training customers in instrument use, and instrument
service.
