Dear Ethan, Howie and everyone else.
I too had a problem with an SIS filament. But then, I've also had problems
with Finnigan filaments. It is called filament sag (according to the
Finnigan guys) and it results from poor quality repairs. It is really clear
when you go to cathode current. You see that the current changes when there
is gas as opposed to no gas. However the total emission current remains
constant. Although I had a problem with an SIS filament, I would still
recommend using this service, because it is so cheap that even if every
other one is no good, it is still a bargain .
